Lewis Casson & Julie Roth, Owners
|
Maxwell's was founded by Lewis
Casson, an experienced restaurant operator, in 1986, and quickly
established itself as a landmark dining establishment on the Iowa
Great Lakes. The restaurant moved to its present lake-view location,
in the heart of the Lakes' area tourism playground, in 2000.
In the early days Maxwell's offered a simple steak house
menu. Very soon Lewis, with his partner, Julie Roth, realized that
their guests were not only receptive, but eager to have more
sophisticated choices. As a result, the menu rapidly expanded and
evolved to what it is today - fine dining prepared by highly skilled
chefs and sous chefs who bring our guests the latest in food trends
and contemporary tastes.
Our serving staff traditionally has been comprised of highly
motivated, intelligent university students and we are very proud of
the fact that many of our alumni today are doctors, lawyers,
dentists, accountants, and other highly skilled professionals.
Over the years we have been privileged to serve many of
Iowa's top business executives and political leaders, including
governors, senators, and congressmen. Our guests also have included
notables from surrounding states and throughout the country -- Cal
Thomas, Bob Novak, Jim McMahan, Marilyn May. Fred Grandy and Dick
Butkus, to name just a few. We take pride, however, in providing a
memorable and distinctive dining experience to all. |
